Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix was a Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix showed an early aptitude for athletics when she was studying at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix discovered her athletic ability at the at the time. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks after her very first tryout. Felix agreed to sign a contract with Adidas for a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to learn about elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place at Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by running 200 metres in 22.18 second. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world for running 200m. The following year, she was able to defend the title in front of her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in all events.
